First one I've seen in person. Potato pictures don't do it justice. I'm ready to sacrifice my salary for the next few years for this car.
Also it was a good day. PDI'd two CLA45's, worked on an SLS, and CL65. Not including some more plebeian stuff.

Actually, since you're deep into Mercedes mechanics, I have a question for you.
I'm a little rusty, because I forget the finer details, but one of my friend's girlfriends has a Mercedes, like a C320 4matic if I'm remembering this correctly. The last time we were talking about it, they mentioned that it is absolutely horrible in snow, and will simply spin one rear wheel on a slick surface.
Would that likely be a transfer case issue? I've never seen the car, because they're always in one of his cars (insane truck or a really nice corvette), but I figured I'd toss the question out in case you had any thoughts. It's been like that as long as she remembers owning it as well.
Totally unrelated, that S550 is my bosses dream car right now.

I know this would be very un-Mercedes like but imagine if you could order this car with a manual. And not just any manual but a super classy looking one to match the super classy looking interior.
Something about a big and classy coupe with a manual seems so right...

That's really strange. 4matic it's usually amazing in snow, mine included, even with shit tires. I've never heard of this complaint, but it sounds like the traction control/esp may not be functioning.
On the other hand, binding clutches in the transfer case could cause it to send more power to the rear. And they do have open diffs. If this is the case it would also shudder a bit when making tight turns. This is easily fixed with a fluid change and some figure eight maneuvers. There is an updated fluid for those transfer cases. In some instances the clutches need to be replaced.
Other possibilities are the driver doing something goofy, or really terrible and/or mismatched tires. Mismatched size tires also. A scan of all of modules for faults and a check of live data would probably yield some sort of issue.

Pretty good actually. Honestly we get more CLA repairs from body shops after wrecks than anything else. Other than that it's mostly rattles and software updates.

Pre Delivery inspection. Basically we just check all new cars out before putting them up for sale. Make sure everything works, no faults present, no rattles or other missed quality control issues.

at least you dudes still have the S coupe. Ours got sent off to casinos in Louisiana first thing in the morning after PDI. Couldn't snap any pics or take one on a test drive.
